Use only specialty nails or screws suited for corrugated roof as they should be more water tight and weather proof.
How to fix corrugated metal roofing sheets.
One downside is that the metal sheets have a susceptibility to denting both in installation and during hailstorms.
The bottom end of the sheets you can fix in each trough to help prevent wind uplift of the sheets.
Sweep the metal roofing sheets of all dirt and debris with a push broom.
Laying the sheets commence fixing sheets at the lower edge of the roof at the opposite end to the prevailing winds.
Place the first screw about 7 inches from the bottom and each subsequent screw about 18 to 24 inches apart along the vertical run.
Primary fixings should be in profile valleys where possible.
Pierce fixing uses fasteners to attach the sheet to the roof frame.
2 lay 6 inch wide butyl tape over all horizontally lapping end seams.
Screws should be fixed perpendicular to the sheeting or cladding in the middle of the rib and always at the top of the crest for maximum water tightness.
Screws can be fixed through the pan valley or crest for walling applications.
Position the tape with the release backing on the top.
Secure the screws but do not overtighten.
For corrugated sheets the fixings required will depend on the material used in the purlins.
You will need around 20 nails or screws for one sheet.
Corrugated roofing sheets should be installed into the corrugated sheets crown using a 65mm tek screw with baz washer.
Fix roofing sheets nail or drill each sheet into the purlins or decking beneath at every point at which the sheet overlaps and at the top and bottom of the slopes.
Install the roofing screws vertically along each rib in the panel.
Secure adjoining sheets as well.
A corrugated metal roof is quieter than pvc when it rains.
Drive them on the ridge of the corrugated roof instead on the lower curve to make them even more watertight.
To fix the sheets each tileform sheet has 5 troughs for securing we recommend you fix the sheet into trough 1 3 and 5.
Press one patch over the roofing cement.
The general advice for fixing is 4 5 screws across the sheets purlin we advise using 1 screw on the overlap of the next sheet.
Apply the cement carefully with a putty knife until you ve sealed the hole completely.
Stagger the sheets using a half sheet to start the second row.
As with all of the fixing screws provided you can use a colour cap to hide the stainless steel head.
The washer under the screw head should seal to the surface of the panel without bulging or shifting.
